Human Resource Outsourcing

Human Resource Outsourcing (HRO) is a rapidly growing business segment in the U.S. that involves the outsourcing of non-core, human resource administrative functions.  By integrating HR administrative functions such as payroll, benefits administration, and compliance management companies are able to leverage HR skills, technology and administrative resources that enhance the productivity of their human capital.

The emergence of Human Resource Outsourcing in recent years has been accelerated by contracts with a large number of Global 1000 companies.  Fueled by an ever increasing competitive landscape, top management in these companies have recognized the need to reallocate their resources from the administration of HR to functions that promote their human capital and thus build shareholder value. Notable companies that have outsourced HR include Wachovia, Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, Sony, Bank of America, British Petroleum, Pepsi, DuPont and Sun Microsystems.

Though this emergence of Fortune 500 sized companies utilizing HRO is relatively new, the business of outsourcing HR administration has been in existence for two decades. amsource has been a provider in this market for over fifteen years. As the industry has evolved and the needs of our clients have changed, amsource has been pro-actively developing and enhancing our Employer Operating System2 (EOS2).

amsource provides two outsourcing platforms for our clients, HRO and PEO. Both of these provide end-to-end HR administration with minimal operational change.  Under these platforms, all HR administrative functions including new hire onboarding, benefit communication, benefit and payroll administration, and compliance management are provided under one vendor contract.
